Making Money With Blogs

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is simply recommending someone else's product, and getting paid a commission for doing so. The way this works is that you generate internet traffic and reroute that traffic to the vendor's website with a special link that contains a code that identifies you. Then, if the customer makes a purchase, you receive a commission for referring that person.

There are many methods of generating this traffic. You can create ads that show up on people's websites and in search engine listings, and every time someone clicks on the ad it will cost you a small amount of money. This is called Pay-Per-Click, or PPC advertising. You can send out emails recommending the product to a list of prospective buyers that you have generated of purchased. You can create articles and post them go any number of free content-sharing websites like Squidoo, Hubpages, and Ezinearticles.

My favorite method is to create little "mini-websites". These little sites contain as few as 2 pages that promote the product and then send them off to the vendor's sales page. They are very easily and quickly developed using a software called Wordpress that allows you to add a blog to your site. In this instance, the blog is all that you have on your site.

This method of promotion is relatively cheap, it's easy to do, and there are unlimited products for you to promote. Each product is called a "micro-niche", and it may be something as specialized as a single model of camera or one type of shoe. When you promote, you are going for a very limited clientele. The plan is to make a few dollars per month from this site, then start another. You can get a site up and running in a day: imagine if you created one per week for a year. You'd have 52 sites up there. If each one of them was making just $5/day that would be $260/day or nearly $8000/month! Not bad residual income, right?

Read on as we explain everything you need to do to get going on this fun, inexpensive, and lucrative endeavor! We will try to keep your costs to a minimum, but there are a few products you can buy that will make this much easier to do and much more profitable. Happy blogging!

Wordpress Goldmine Review

Wordpress Goldmine is my number one choice of product to buy if you’re just getting started in internet marketing. When I was getting interested in using affiliate marketing to monetize my network marketing business I searched the internet for weeks looking for direction. That’s when I stumbled upon Wordpress Goldmine by Mark Thompson.

Wordpress Goldmine is a downloadable ebook that explains in detail how to set up “Wordpress Micro-Niche Blog Websites” in order to promote affiliate products. Affiliate products are simply things that other people produce that you promote, and if you send anyone to their website and that person ends up buying the product, you get a commission.

But what is a Wordpress Micro-Niche Blog Website? Let’s break it down one word at a time.

Wordpress is a free blogging platform that you can install on any website, or it can be your website. It ’s available from most hosting companies and is extremely easy to set up.

A Niche is an area of expertise or focus. An example of a niche might be weight loss. A Micro-Niche is an extremely small area of expertise or focus. An example of a micro-niche in the weight loss niche could be “XYZ weight loss product”. Another example might be an ebook explaining how to lose weight by standing on your head. Usually, it’s just a single product. If you’re promoting physical products, a niche would be shoes. A micro-niche would be Crocs, or maybe even just one particular style of Crocs.

A Blog is a type of website, or area of a website, where the owner can quickly add new content, such as articles or recommendations. It’s designed to be quick, easy, and to change frequently. The search engines love blogs, because they’re looking for fresh content to give their searchers and blogs offer that ability.

A Website is simply a place to hold content. What we’re going to be creating are Blog Websites, where the whole website is a blog. This makes them super easy to build and update.

Mark Thompson teaches us how to create these Wordpress Micro-Niche Blog Websites in a step-by-step manner in Wordpress Goldmine. It’s not a bunch of fluff, or blah-blah-blah. His style is very to the point and blunt, and he doesn’t go into a bunch of beating around the bush. My only complaint would be that sometimes, at least for me, he doesn’t go into quite enough detail on how or why to do something.

Online Forum

But that’s ok, because included in the price is an online forum that allows you to interact with and ask questions of other users of Wordpress Goldmine, or WPG. Plus, Mark himself usually answers the questions if no one else speaks up. He’s very patient, and no question is stupid.

Bonus Videos

The other thing that I really like about WPG is that he includes bonus videos, showing you little tips and tricks about building your business. They could be about a tool he recommends, or training on how to do a graphical header for your site, or just a little idea that worked for him. He’s constantly adding new videos to this library too. Plus, they’re also short and to the point – I don’t think any of them are over 10 minutes, and most are around 5. In fact, he kind of gets upset at himself if he goes over 5 minutes! He doesn’t want to waste your time.

I really recommend Wordpress Goldmine as a way to get started in this wonderful world of affiliate marketing. The price is ridiculously cheap and it has a 56 day money back guarantee. Take a look - see if you feel the same way I did.

Matt

P.S. If you don’t think this looks like something that can be lucrative, I just want to let you know that the author, Mark Thompson, created a 2 page site for a product that generated over $17,000 in just about a month! This isn’t chump change, it’s serious dough!

P.P.S. Remember, if nothing happens, nothing happens. You need to take steps to be successful, and for me this was the most important one!
